Reason #47 to Have a Toddler: Spontaneous Nudity

Nothing like a nice, unseasonably warm November day to relax in the backyard. And when you've got an apple, a chair, a bike, and a pile of leaves, who needs clothes?

Playing in the Leaves

Addie's first leaf playing adventure. I hope you enjoy the pictures as much as she enjoyed the leaves.

The Sprinkler

It is officially Summer with a capitol 'S' because we played in the sprinkler today. As you can see Addie really enjoyed it! Its not actually our sprinkler, but I think it still counts. The sprinkler and the yard belong to my friend Elena. She and I go running together a couple of times a week-today at 5 o'clock with a 100 degree heat index. Her four year old Zane and Addie had a great time playing in the sprinkler to cool off after our run. We enjoyed it too!

This one is my favorite :

A house update: We may be closing on Wednesday, but we still aren't sure-someone is supposed to call us back tomorrow to confirm. We have our fingers crossed.

Saturday Sewing

These pictures were all taken out on the back deck of our townhouse, next to our blueberry bush-which is soon to be transplanted into a garden.

Nature Center

With warmer weather abounding, we've naturally been spending more and more time outside. The mailboxes for our apartment complex are located at either end of the complex, so we've got to walk to check the mail, and if it's nice outside and Addie is fully clothed (two variables that can never be guaranteed) I'll take her with me. And when it's nice, she wants to keep walking, but after one lap around our less-than-aesthetically-pleasing complex I'm usually ready to go back inside. There's something about taking laps on asphalt that has lost its appeal.

So we took advantage of Addie's desire to be outside and took an evening to walk the trails at the Conservation Nature Center. I'm happy to report that Addie thoroughly enjoyed herself (and walked a long ways), but her favorite part by far wasn't the deer, nor the blue heron, nor the swimming muskrat, nor the fish in the creek (though she did get a kick out of the squirrels chasing each other around); it was the gravel that lined parts of the walking trail. See for yourself:
